Cullercoats bay has a small sheltered beach that is situated between the long sweeping beaches at Whitley Bay and Tynemouth. The beach is very popular with families in summer and a boat launching ramp is still used by a few fishing cobles. The lifeboat station is still active with an inshore lifeboat based there. View over Cullercoats Bay to the breakwaters. View down the south ramp to the beach. View to the north side of the bay.
Photos of Whitley Bay Seafront and Beach. Whitley Bay used to be a thriving and very busy holiday resort but times have changed and many of the past attractions are gone. The beach is still superb though and is used regularly in the summer by families and by dog walkers all year round. Dogs are restricted to the northern end of the beach.
